Landrace?
You might have heard the term Landrace Strain while choosing your favorite cannabis strain…so what is it? Landrace Strain generally refer to the global region in which cannabis strains are originally from; strains like Thai, Durban Poison and Acapulco Gold are all great examples of this. These names not only indicate what strain they are, but also where they came from. Over many generations different environments and growing practices can create unique and specific characteristics in a cannabis plant itself, changing its appearance and characteristics.
Hybrids Landrace Strains?
Many of the most popular strains now available are hybridized versions of these landrace strains. Cultivators will cross-pollinate cannabis strains with the goal of combining multiple desired effects into one, new, potent strain. This process can be incredibly tedious and time consuming, but this is how many of our favorite cannabis strains have come into existence.
