Vape carts are easy to use, but delicate devices that if improperly cared for can result in poor experiences. Vapes are sensitive too light, temperature, and even physical orientation. You want to keep your vape cartridges at a consistent reasonably cool temperature for starters. Excessive exposure to heat can result in the vape cart leaking oil and freezing temperatures will make the liquid hard to vaporize resulting in “weak” hits. Cold weather can also affect the rubber seals used to contain the oil. Heat can also convert cannabinoids like THC into other compounds reducing the carts potency. Another important but often overlooked factor is light exposure which can also lead to increased temperatures.
UV rays can literally destroy compounds like THC and the terpenes that give cannabis products distinct aromas. As a result UV exposure can reduce potency much like heat exposure. Keep your vape cartridges in dark places like drawers or in opaque containers. When storing vape carts make sure you’re orientating them properly as well.
Leaving your cart in a horizontal position can result in build up or blockages that can make vape carts hard if not impossible to hit properly. You should keep your cartridges in a vertical orientation. This keeps the liquids flowing towards the wick resulting in consistent and proper hits.
