What is a Cannabis Tincture?

Tinctures have been used throughout history for different homeopathic and recreational substances by a wide array of different cultures. Now that cannabis has become more popular you can find tincture infused with cannabis on almost any shelf.
What’s in it?
A cannabis tincture will generally consist of high levels of cannabinoids which are suspended and diluted into a fatty or oily substance. These fats and oils absorb THC and other cannabinoids and allow for an even mixture. Alcohol can also be used to suspend the THC and cannabinoids but is generally less common for compliance reason. MCT oil will be the most popular medium that you will find on store shelves. Tinctures depending on there mixture will also have a wide array of effects associated with them. There are Sativa-day time tinctures, or nighttime mixtures with CBN and CBD.
How Much Should I Take?
Tinctures generally come in a small bottle with a squeezable dropper included. This will help people figure out how much one should use and how to find their proper dosing. Figuring out your tolerance and dosing will be incredibly important depending on how one decides to use the product. It is generally recommended to start off small with a single dropper full and work your way up to a therapeutic dose from there.
